Vegan Cereals
Note: Packaging and ingredients can change over time, so please DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING, and let us know if you spot any changes or errors. We include products that state ‘may contain milk/egg’, i.e. they are at risk of cross-contamination during the manufacturing process. This is simply an allergy warning, but these products cannot be marked vegan by law. They are however, generally considered suitable for vegans. To help keep this resource going, Vegan Womble would receive a small commission if you were to purchase products via any affiliate links in this post. Affiliate links are marked with *. Product information and photos are submitted by the Vegan Womble community – you are our eyes and ears. We will keep adding products as they come in, so please keep sending us your vegan discoveries.
Being vegan you certainly don’t have to miss out on cereal. There is a wide choice available and a wide choice of milk alternatives to go with them!
Note: Do check for changes in ingredients. Vitamin D from non-vegan sources often get added to recipes and other vitamins can change sources, making them no longer vegetarian and vegan. Be sure to check the box still says suitable for vegetarians. If vitamin D appears in a product, there’s a chance that it could be D2 (vegan), or plant-derived D3, so if you really love the cereal, it’s worth checking with customer services… and then let us know too!

“Technically, Chocolate Squares are suitable for vegans, however they are produced on the same production line as some products which do contain milk, and for this reason, we can’t state that they are suitable for vegans on the box in case of a minute degree of cross contamination.
The Vitamin D we use in Chocolatey Squares is vitamin D2 and is derived from a yeast extract and not derived from sheep’s wool lanolin” received 08/17

ASDA
15/3/18 we found that Asda are going to switch to vegan vitamin D. No timescale yet. “I have been in touch with our buying team who has advised me the D3 is the one that is usually used in the food industry and it does contain a derivate of sheep wool ( not vegetal ). The D2 is more expensive but we are going to switch to this one because this one is suitable for vegan ( vegetal).”
23/2 The packaging has changed on the Choco Balls and now contains vitamin D – we have wrote to Asda to check if vegan
