Laundry Products

Asda

Their eco range is clearly labelled vegan.

Aldi

The eco range is not sold all the time. The more we ask for it, they might consider selling it all the time. Includes toilet cleaner and washing up liquid. Don’t see why they went to the trouble of having a made for Aldi label if they are not going to sell it all year. There own brand standard range is not tested on animals, but contains animal ingredients, so unfortunately is not vegan.

If it says ‘no animal testing’ AND ‘no animal ingredients’, it’s vegan. The only household products I have found that are not animal-friendly are the fabric conditioners, but do double check everything just in case.

Dri-Pak Ltd

12/08/15 “Our products are suitable for vegans. The old original flakes were not as they were made from tallow but we closed the flake plant last December and the new Liquid Flakes are made from sunflower oil
Dri-Pak have never tested products or ingredients on animals or commissioned a third party to carry out tests. Ingredients have not been tested on animals by our suppliers since 1998. Yes we do pack Wilko liquid soap flakes and their soda. We supply Wilko with soda crystals, liquid soda, liquid soap flakes, white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, citric acid, dishwasher salt and water softener in powder and tablet form. The only difference between Wilko label is the label all production processes and ingredients are the same and from the same sources.”

  • Sophie Abbott says:

Are Wilko fabric conditioners vegan then?! I can never find a nice smelling one, I’m using Surcare atm!

    • Sandra says:

As far as we know as they did say all, but its worth dropping an email to the email in the article to confirm in case they have some new things added that are not. With Easy, Jeyes and McBride saying all are vegan, it is quite likely as probably made by one of these companies. I don’t use conditioner myself, so can’t really recommend. Perhaps you will find one you like in Ecover or Method ranges? Not added to the article yet since the change over recently.

  • Colleen White says:

Hello..do you not consider Method to be vegan??….they told me they were xxx
Many thanks for a great website xxx😍😍😍

    • Sandra says:

Yes, now they have dropped testing on dalphia. Last year they used to test on dalphia (water insects) so where not technically not tested on animlals, however they and Ecover have given up this and are now vegan. I think the whole range is, but as this is a very new change I haven’t looked into if there is any exceptions like there is with Ecover (washing up liquid containing whey)

  • Judy Egan says:

Do Lidl or Aldi sell any vegan household products for laundry, dishwashers and washing up etc

    • Sandra says:

Aldi have had some in from time to time, but not a regular line. They don’t test on animals, however their regular laundry products are not vegan. I have never checked on dishwasher or washing up products as they are so easy to find elsewhere. However it is a good question. They are very good at giving the info if you drop them a line. I have never looked into Lidl as I only go there about once a year, but would love to know if you find out any info from them. They are also good at replying about things. Thanks for your question. Sandra
