Disclaimer: Photos are submitted by the Vegan Womble community. Packaging and ingredients can change over time, so please DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING, and let us know if you spot any changes. We include products that state ‘may contain milk/egg’, i.e. they are at risk of cross-contamination during the manufacturing process. Read more…

This is simply an allergy warning, but these products cannot be marked vegan by law. They are however, generally considered suitable for vegans. Product suggestions and photos are submitted by the Vegan Womble community – you are our eyes and ears. We will keep adding products as they come in, so please keep sending us your vegan discoveries.

Welcome to our unofficial Aldi vegan list, which includes accidentally vegan products, and products that are considered suitable for vegans, but are not necessarily labelled vegan. A big thank you to Sarah for reading many labels and taking most of the photos.

Asda don’t do an official vegan list. They do sell however plenty of food that is vegan.

BAKERY

All white unseeded bread baked in store at Asda is vegan, also tiger breads, if ever unsure they have an updated book in the back of the bakery, just ask to see it , thank you Kayleigh Lewis for this information (she works in the bakery). This includes all the white bread baps and rolls, baguettes, crusty rolls too, but NOT wholemeal or granary though.

It would be interesting if you provide links for the online shopping to save time gathering at the supermarkets. I can see how this may be quite a task, but maybe instead just a text list alongside would make it quicker and easier to digest?

  • Jimmy Jones says:

Isn’t honeycomb stolen from bees and therefore not vegan??

  • Becky says:

Wow so helpful and such a lot of hard work gone into this really appreciate if! Can’t believe the onion rings are vegan so happy as I miss them being vegan!

What a great service for me just starting out.
But can you tell me why the asda good balance often says not suitable for those allergic to eggs ir milk when there is neither in the list of ingredients.

    • Cholet says:

It will be made in a factory that makes products containing those items. So only of concern for someone with allergies in case of a small risk of cross contamination.

  • Louise says:

I asked at Asda bakery and they said all of their bread made in store has milk powder in it. 🙁

    • Sandra says:

Sometimes they can be so lazy. In there book it even labels which are vegan. At least on the ones in our article anyway. 🙂
